Portable mode - Authorization method

Hi,

Is it possible to configure SP4 portable version to never request master password? When I check the box under authorization method, it seems to save the setting. Yet, when going back into settings, the box is unchecked.
This is with trial version 4.0.0.141 under Windows 7.

Have been a long-time SP3 user, and love the software.

Hi Alec,

do you mean the check box "Request Master Password when Sticky Password Starts"?

If you want to set the option to Never ask Master password, you have to do it in Settings - Authorization Method - and set "No authorization".

But it´s not recommended to do this, especially when you´re using the portable version.

Yes, I understand that this is not the preferred solution. I use Sticky Password from within an IronKey encrypted USB drive which requires a password before the drive can be accessed.

Having said that, with SP4 in portable mode, this option doesn't seem to be working on my system.

1. Open Settings -> Authorization method -> Authorization method
2. Check Never request the Master Password then select OK
3. Re-open Settings -> Authorization method
4. Never request Master Password is not selected.

This is with the registered version of SP4, 4.0.0.141.

Any help would be appreciated.

are you using Sticky Password on a standard flash disc or do you have a special Iron Key flash disc with their special software?

Currently (12/12/09) I am using a standard flash drive (non-Ironkey). The same behavior as above is taking place. At this point, I have gotten used to reentering the password, though

Have also registered the software. Congratulations again on version 4. Great work.
