FireFox portable Autofill modul

Hi Sticky team,

I have installed on my USB flash drive Sticky PRO portable + portable Firefox.

However, each time I plug my USB flash drive and launch Sticky portable with my portable Firefox, the Sticky software ask me to install again and again the “complementary AutoFill module”.

Is there a specific patch for this issue?

Make sure that you´re using the latest build 5.0.5.239.

I'am using;
- Sticky password version 5.0.5.239
- Portable Firefox 4 and 5 => same issue
- Portable Firefox 6 => do not work at all

A manual fix for this issue is to enable the FireFox Autofill plug-in on an installed version of Firefox then locate the plug-in file and copy it to your portable version.

The autofill plug-in file is named npSPAutofill.dll It can be found in your sticky password directory.
To enable the plug-in in Firefox portable copy the file to x(Portable drive):\(Firefox Portable Directory)\Data\plugins\

I was able to test my suggestion and get it working on a pc that in the past had firefox installed, however when running firefox portable on a pc that never had firefox installed my workaround does not correct this issue. Hopefully the developers will be able to resolve it.

I have tried several times but it still does not work properly. Just to help you in your fix resolution, my workaround is the following:

On a PC (windows7 and also XP) that already have a fix Firefox browser installed.

1/ Plug-in USB flash drive that contains:
- Portable Firefox 5 (with plugin “npSPAutofill.dll” in I(flash drive):\FirefoxPortable\Data\plugins)
- Portable Sticky Password 5.0.5.239

NB: I also tried with plugin in I(flash drive):\FirefoxPortable\App\DefaultData\plugins

2/ Launch from USB flash drive:
- portable Firefox.exe
- spportablerun.exe

3/ Click on Sticky password icon located on the Firefox portable browser:
- Error message “ Autofill complementary module not installed”(see attached)

1st option:
- Close Portable Firefox, to finalize installation of “ Autofill complementary module”
- Then restart portable Firefox and now stickypassword works fine.
- Issue is the same each time you close & restart Sticky Pasword portable or each time you unplug & plug the USB flash drive. Means all the time.

2nd option:
- Close the “ Autofill complementary module installation” windows
- Then clic again on the Sticky password icon located on the firefox portable browser
- All your identity account appear and can be used normally with autofill function
- However each time you open new identity, the “ Autofill complementary module installation” windows reappear again.

4/ While if you click on Sticky password icon located in Systray icon bar of windows:
- Click one of your identity, then
- It opens directly the Firefox fix browser installed on the computer.

Thank you for your interest, I find that as Portable Firefox is the only compatible browser with Portable StickyPassword it could be interesting to have it easy launch for full mobility and compatibility!

Thanks for your assistance in helping get this feature fully working.

On the computer with firefox already or previously installed what I did to cause the autofill plug-in to work was instead of running FirefoxPortable.exe I ran the actual app (App\Firefox\firefox.exe) this seems to cause the portable to correctly update the currently registered plugins database (pluginsreg.dat) in the profiles directory.

I tried your workaround on a PC that have a fix Firefox portable but it didn’t work.

I also tried to copy following files from the updated fix Firefox in the portable Firefox on usb flash drive but it didn’t work too:
- “pluginreg.dat” in I:\Sticky Password\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile
- “plugin-container.exe” in I:\Sticky Password\FirefoxPortable\App\Firefox

our developers are working on this fix. It should be included in next Sticky Password 5 maintenance release. It should be available in a few months.
