What is the Clipboard protection feature?

Postby ondrej.novak » Tue May 22, 2012 3:23 pm

Sticky Password 6.0 includes a new Clipboard encryption feature. This feature “controls” your passwords copied to the Clipboard.

When a password is copied to your clipboard and Sticky Password detects a command to paste it, it automatically asks you to confirm if you really want to paste your password. By allowing you to double check where the password will be pasted, this increases your security and prevents possible theft of your password while being in the clipboard.

This feature can be enabled/disabled in the Sticky Password User Interface window – Settings (in the upper right corner of the window) – General settingsAsk before pasting password from clipboard.

When I generate password with pass manager & "Ask before pasting password from clipboard" enabled, Firefox paste this text:

[Sticky Password Protector]

No password in clipboard, no confirmation to paste, etc...?

I'm on Firefox 12.0.

Can you please specify your issue? This works as stated before, it asks before you paste it into some form.

Can you try different browser or Word or another application? Try to restart Sticky Password too.

Thanks

Actually, it's working after restarting browsers :)

I never restart browser after enable this option, always try without browser restart, then disable this future because "not working". You should add some restart note in settings, near to this option.

Anyway, this option is keylogger protection? Confirmation pop-up appear if keylogger try to grab password from the clipboard?

Btw, this option is in conflict with all win applications which one using clipboard. Like translators, firefox plugins, etc... If try to insert BB code or email addresses, from the Firefox macros (right click), confirmation password popup always appear? If try to open translator (he using clipboard), popup appear & I can't get rid of him? I must kill translator from the processes. Etc...

P. S. How to disable this small pop-up Image

Confirmation dialog appears when you or something else wants to access the clipboard.

What do you mean by inserting BB code from Firefox macros? Where? Any screenshot or exact plugin, application?

The small pop-up on the picture is our Sticky Pointer. It appears only when you hover over Sticky Password systary icon.
