Various ways to avoid entering master password

Password manager simplifies live and prevents phishing and identity theft. But need to enter the master password still tiresome and annoying. We offer you an option to get rid of entering master password and stay secure.

Sticky Password provides multiple ways to get rid of the need to enter the master password. We called this feature as "Various authentication methods". Now you can use any bluetooth device (e.g. mobile phone) or USB device (mp3 player, flash drive) to lock/unlock password database.

Just go to Sticky Password settings dialog and switch to "Database Authorization" page. Choose activation method and specify details:

The following authentication methods are currently available:

      Never request password - the password is stored on your computer in protected form. Sticky Password will never ask for it, but don't forget your master password because you'll need it to migrate to other computers or to change the authentication method.

      Removable device - this authentication method allows you to use any USB compatible device to unlock Sticky Password's database. This could be USB storage, MP3 player or Pocket PC. Just insert the device to USB port to unlock Sticky Password and remove it to lock.

      Bluetooth device - this authentication method allows you to setup any Bluetooth enabled device to unlock the password storage when it appears in the range of visibility for bluetooth device of your computer. The database will be automatically locked when bluetooth device becomes unvisible for your computer (the standard bluetooth range is 10 metres).

With this new feature, that makes possible to automatically unlock Sticky Password when some USB device has been inserted, you are getting new opportunity - you can store your passwords database on the USB storage device which also will operate as unlock key for the database.

To configure Sticky Password for this mode, you need to perform the following steps:

1. Insert the USB storage device in USB port.

2. Go to Sticky Password Settings, choose "Database" page and specify the location of database file on the USB storage device.

3. Switch to "Database authorization" page, choose "Removable device" from the list and choose your USB Storage device as activation device for Sticky Password.

After you click OK button, Sticky Password will copy your database on the removable device, which will be also used to lock/unlock the database.
