Today, I’d like to show you some tips that not only beginners are going to really enjoy. I’ll cover the two main points of contact with Sticky Password that are really useful in everyday activities on your computer, and I’ll add an extra tip that will save you time.
Sticky Password in your browser
The first and most important place where you’ll meet Sticky Password is your browser. If you have the Sticky Password plugin installed, you can see the Sticky Password icon in the upper right corner of your browser. This is the Sticky Password Caption Button. Sticky Password performs most actions automatically for you – such as adding a new account, adding a new login, changing a password etc. But it is good to know that all these actions can be found in Caption Button menu. Let’s take a closer look.
When you visit a website where you have an account stored in Sticky Password, Sticky Password recognizes the page and goes to work to log you in automatically. When you have multiple accounts for this site, unless you have a default login selected, you’ll see a bubble next to the login form with some options. You’re being prompted to choose the credentials you want to use for autofill. But this isn’t the only way to select the login you want to use. You can click the Caption Button and here you can find all your logins for the website. You can also add a new login or edit your account. Bookmarks and Identities are also accessible from the Caption Button menu.
When you visit a website where you don’t have an account stored in Sticky Password, the Caption Button menu is a bit different. You can see your favorite accounts at the top of menu, if you click one of these accounts, the website will open in a new tab. All your web accounts can be found under Web accounts or you can add a new account by clicking Add Account.
Sticky Password in the notification area
Another place where you’ll run across Sticky Password when it’s running is the notification area in the lower right corner of your screen. (This area is also called the system tray or ‘systray’.)
If the icon is not visible, click on small arrow next to speaker icon. You can simply drag the icon and drop it in the system tray.
From here you can launch the Sticky Password main window by clicking Open Sticky Password or you can quickly launch your accounts from Favorites.
EXTRA TIP: The Quick Launch box
Do you have a lot of accounts and don’t want to search through all of them each time you want to access one of them quickly? Don’t worry, you can use the Quick Launch box! You can use the default keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + R. The Quick Launch box is also easily accessible from Caption button – Quick Launch box or click the Sticky Password icon in the lower right corner of the screen (notification area) – Quick Launch box.
Type the first few letters of your account and click on it. The Account opens in the new tab.
