Internet Explorer 64 bit doesn't have SP icon at top

Postby caldwemi » Mon Aug 08, 2011 12:23 am

SP 5.0.4.233 works great with Firefox 3.6.1.8 (which I believe is 64bit). But, SP does not work with Internet explorer 8.0.7601 64 bit. In IE I don't get the icon in the upper right corner. I went to SP --> settings --> browser and tried to unintall IE (in order to reinstall) but, I didn't have the option to uninstall.

Is IE 8 64bit supported?

Hi Michelle,

Unfortunately at this time Sticky Password doesn't support 64-bit applications. You can run Sticky Password on 64-bit operating systems but only with 32-bit applications.

That's the reason why we don't officially support 64-bit operating systems.

Running IE in the 32bit mode should resolve this issue.

Hi, Ondrej! Similarly to Michelle's issue, I don't have the S.P. icon at the top. I was using IE8 64-bit, but after reading your reply, I then switched to the other version 32-bit thinking that was the cause, but still S.P. won't show. I made sure under settings IE was enabled in S.P. What could be wrong?

Thanks,

Lucia

Hello, Ondrej. Before I send you the file, I apologize I forgot to mention that the browsers I use are IE and Firefox. S.P. works perfectly well on Firefox. Unders "settings", "supported browsers", it shows both Firefox and IE installed and with a checkmark. However, the IE is greyed out. I also checked my add-ons in IE, but S.P. does not show. Maybe this additional information will help you diagnose the problem. Thanks! Lucia
P.S. Reading your instructions, will I have to install Chrome for S.P. to work?

Hi Lucia,

thank you for your reply.

You wrote that Internet Explorer is grayed in Settings - Supported Browsers. Could you please send me a screenshot of this dialog?

Also if it´s possible please send me a screenshot of the "About Internet Explorer" dialog. It´s available in the menu of Internet Explorer.

Is the autofill feature working in your Internet Explorer when you launch an account from the Sticky Password system tray menu please?

Best regards,

Hello, Ondrej!

Yes, S.P. works in IE if I launch an account from the system tray menu.

I have attached the two screen shots you requested. I noticed that it's not that the IE is greyed out in Settings, it 's the check mark that looks faint., and maybe that is not even relevant. I'm sorry!

Thanks for your help

Lucia

Hello, Ondrej. Sorry about the delay in replying. First of all, all of the sudden, Sticky Password icon is showing in IE. I did not do anything and it just simply re-appeared by itself! Anyways, to answer your last question, S.P. shows "instaled" for IE in "caption button"~.

Thanks for your help,

Lucia
