Double Firefox Windows

Post by technics » Sat Oct 22, 2011 7:35 pm

I am using Sticky Password 5 and the latest Firefox 7.0.1 on Windows XP Pro sp3. Whenever I click on a site link in Sticky Password it opens two identical windows within the browser. Would anyone know what might be causing this. Thanks for any help.

When you open a link from some other application (e-mail client for example) is it also opened twice?

Does Sticky Password open two Firefox tabs of windows?

In order to assist us in resolving your issue, kindly send us the information included in the Sticky Password 'System info' file.

The System info file can be found by

1) Right-clicking on the Sticky Password icon in the System tray icon
2) Select Help
3) Click on "System info..."

A window will appear with the pertinent Sticky Password technical information that will be used to analyze your issue. NO passwords are included in this information! We do NOT know or collect any password information.

4) Click the Copy button and paste it in a response to this e-mail.

When you open a link from some other application (e-mail client for example) is it also opened twice? No - only SP.

Does Sticky Password open two Firefox tabs or windows? Two identical tabs.

I also recently realized that if Firefox is not open and in use, clicking on a Sticky Password link will open Firefox and give me only one tab (window) to the url link as it should. It is when I have Firefox already open on my screen and using it that if I click on a Sticky Password link it will open two identical tabs.

it possible that add-on Tab Mix Plus can open these tabs. It has many options. Try to temporally disable it.
Also, please precise - how do you open link from Sticky Password? From the Password database or from Caption button or any other way?

It would appear that Tab Mix Plus was the culprit. I open links using the password database and the caption buttons but it would do it from either one. I did not even know I had Tab Mix Plus as an add-on. Not sure how it became an add-on but not a problem now with it disabled.

I really appreciate your help with this. It is great to get something that is kind of aggravating fixed.

Thank you,
