Sticky Password terminology

The Sticky Password Product line:

Sticky Password Premium – our flagship product that supports all features, platforms and synchronization options.

Sticky Password Free – Sticky Password Free supports all of the platforms supported by Sticky Password Premium. The key limitation of the Free version is synchronization. While you can use Sticky Password Free on any of your devices, synchronization of the encrypted database between your devices is not supported. To get the benefit of syncing your data, please upgrade to Sticky Password Premium.

There is one installation file for Sticky Password. If you haven’t tried Sticky Password yet, you’ll be able to try the full functionality of the Premium version. We invite you to buy a license at any time during the initial 30 day period. If you choose not to, then your Sticky Password will convert to Sticky Password Free. Either way, we’re confident that you will find the features you need with Sticky Password.

Synchronization related terms:

StickyID – your e-mail address that is required as the unique identifier for access to your StickyAccount

Master Password - the password you chose during the installation of Sticky Password to protect the data in your database. Your Master Password is the key to your encrypted database and also to your StickyAccount. This is the only password you will need to remember, and it is critical that you do not lose or forget this password. Your Master Password is not stored anywhere – so we are not able to ‘resend’ it to you, and it is not possible to ‘reset’ it. Without the Master Password it is not possible to unlock and access your password database or to use Sticky Password.

StickyAccount – your cloud account ( my.stickypassword.com ) where you can manage your settings like device authentication, your list of Trusted Devices etc., as well as giving you access to Sticky Password synchronization services. For access to your StickyAccount you’ll need both your StickyID and Master Password.

Authorization related terms:

One-time PIN – a PIN code required when 2-factor authorization is enabled to authorize connection of a new device to your StickyAccount (this setting can be changed in StickyAccount settings -> tab Settings -> section Authorization).

A one-time PIN will be automatically sent to your StickyID (e-mail) or Alternative email (if specified) and must be entered after your StickyAccount credentials (StickyID and Master Password) have been entered. Once a correct PIN has been entered, the device will be added to the trusted devices list.
