Which permissions does Sticky Password for Android require?

In order for the Sticky Password App to work correctly on your Android device, it is necessary that various Android permissions are confirmed. During the installation process, you will be prompted to confirm those permissions.

Following is the list of permissions used by Sticky Password.

com.android.vending.BILLING

Allows Apps to use in-app purchase in order to extend the service.

android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW

Allows an App to open windows using the type TYPE_SYSTEM_ALERT, displayed on top of all other applications. This permission is used to display messages and notifications, i.e. floating window and synchronization status.

android.permission.GET_ACCOUNTS

Allows access to the list of accounts in the Accounts Service.

android.permission.INTERNET

Allows Apps to open network sockets. This enables the Sticky Password App to communicate with the backend and use StickyBrowser.

android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

Allows Apps to access information about available networks. Sticky Password uses it to check if it is possible to synchronize.

android.permission.ACCESS_WIFI_STATE

Allows Apps to access information about Wi-Fi networks. Used for setting WiFi-only synchronization.

android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

Allows Apps to read from external storage.

android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

Allows Apps to write to external storage.

com.android.browser.permission.READ_HISTORY_BOOKMARKS

Allows Apps to read (but not write to) the user's browsing history and bookmarks. Sticky Password uses this when importing from the default browser.

com.android.launcher.permission.INSTALL_SHORTCUT

Allows Apps to install a shortcut in Launcher. The user can create a StickyBrowser shortcut from the StickyBrowser menu.

com.android.launcher.permission.UNINSTALL_SHORTCUT

Allows Apps to uninstall a shortcut in Launcher. The user can remove the StickyBrowser shortcut from the StickyBrowser menu.

android.permission.GET_TASKS

Allows Apps to get information about active tasks and those that have been run recently.

android.permission.RECEIVE_SMS

Allows Apps to monitor incoming SMS messages in order to record or process them. This permission is used by the autofill engine when needed for two-factor authentication on websites.

android.permission.BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE

This is required by the Android AccessibilityService in order for the Sticky Password autofill engine to function properly.

android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO

Allows Apps to record audio. This permission is used by the voice recognition authentication mechanism.
