How to export your data from Dashlane

You can move your data from Dashlane to Sticky Password in different ways, depending on which device you use.

Prefer direct import on mobile

Note: If you use Dashlane on a mobile device, the direct import option is the easiest and fastest way to move your passwords to Sticky Password. It handles everything for you, so there’s no need to fuss with export files.

Export your data from Dashlane

If you want to import your data using a file, use Dashlane’s CSV export. On some platforms, Dashlane may download the export as a ZIP archive that contains one or more CSV files. If that happens, extract the ZIP file and use the CSV file during import.

Which format should you use with Sticky Password?

• CSV: This is the standard format for importing your Dashlane data into Sticky Password.
• ZIP archive containing CSV files: If Dashlane downloads your export as a ZIP file, extract it first, then import the CSV file or files into Sticky Password.

Important security note

Dashlane CSV exports are not encrypted. Anyone who can open the file can read your saved data.

Handle the export file carefully:

• use a trusted device
• import the file into Sticky Password as soon as possible
• delete the export file and any copies after the import is complete

For your security:

• do not send the export file by email or chat
• do not leave it on a shared or unmanaged computer

Work or team accounts

If you use Dashlane as part of a business or team plan, your organization may restrict exports. If the export option is unavailable, or some items are missing, contact your Dashlane administrator or review Dashlane’s Help Center article: Policies for professional plans.

What to expect after export

The exported file may not contain everything exactly as it appears in Dashlane. Some item types, fields, or shared data may be exported differently or may not be included.
