Dark Web Monitoring: how Sticky Password protects your data against breaches

Windows, Mac

Sticky Password provides protection against data breaches by informing you when your logins and passwords are found in breach data on the dark web. With timely information, you can take appropriate action to protect your accounts.

Dark Web Monitoring checks and identifies whether your passwords or login/ password pairs were found on the dark web and notifies you in case of any threats, thereby enabling you to take quick actions to remove them and stop violations of your accounts.

Of course, Sticky Password helps protect you against data breaches by enabling you to have strong unique passwords for each and every account which are protected in your encrypted storage on your devices.

How to use Dark Web Monitoring

Your email addresses and passwords identified in breach data can be found by:

  • opening the Sticky Password app on your device;

  • clicking the Security Dashboard tab;

  • making sure that Dark Web Monitoring is on and set to;

  • either Automatic or Manual check options.

💡 Note: even when Automatic mode is on, you still can check if there are any new threats anytime you wish by clicking the Check now button.

In case of any issues you will receive a notification in your Security Dashboard.

What does it mean when my logins and passwords have been found on the dark web?

It means that your passwords are included in the breach data that bad actors (hackers and cybercriminals) are buying and selling on the internet.

What should I do if my data is found in breach data?

An exposed password doesn’t mean that your account has necessarily been compromised — though that is possible. By taking quick action to change passwords of the affected accounts, checking for unauthorized activity, etc. you can mitigate the risk to your accounts — often, even before your accounts have been violated.

Won't my passwords be exposed on the internet during the scan?

Thanks to the customized solution we’ve implemented, your passwords never leave your device during the scan. All verification is performed directly on your device ensuring your passwords always remain secure and private.

What can I do if I don’t have Dark Web Monitoring?
