How to Securely Export Data from Sticky Password on Android

Android

You can export passwords from the Sticky Password Android app when you want to create a secure copy of your data or move your passwords to another Sticky Password account or another device.

For better safety, we recommend using a password-protected export whenever possible. Exported files may contain sensitive information, including your passwords, so save the file only to a secure location and delete it when you no longer need it.

Export passwords from Sticky Password for Android

  1. Open Sticky Password on your Android phone or tablet.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Tap Import/Export.
  4. Tap Export your data.
  5. Select the passwords and other items you want to export.
  6. Tap Export.
  7. Choose the export format:
    • Protected Sticky Password file — Recommended. This option protects the exported file with a password.
    • Unprotected Sticky Password file — Use this only if you need a file for another app or service that cannot import the protected format.
  8. If you choose a protected export, create and confirm the password for the exported file.
  9. When the export is ready, save or share the file to another app.

Important: keep your exported password file safe

An exported password file may contain sensitive data. Use a password-protected export whenever possible, especially if you plan to store the file, send it to another device, or keep it as a backup.

After you finish importing the file into another password manager or another Sticky Password installation, delete the exported file from your Android device if you no longer need it.

When should you export passwords from Sticky Password?

You may want to export your passwords if you need to:

  • move passwords to another Sticky Password account;
  • transfer selected passwords to another device;
  • create a secure backup copy;
  • import your Sticky Password data on another platform.

Sticky Password’s cross-platform export/import scenario is designed to keep the exported data consistent when it is imported on another device or Sticky Password account.

Troubleshooting

If you cannot find the exported file, check the location you selected during export, such as Downloads, Files, or your chosen cloud storage folder.

If another app cannot import the file, try exporting again and make sure you selected the correct export format. Some apps may not support protected Sticky Password files.
