Import passwords from another password manager on iPhone or iPad

iOS

The safest and easiest way to move your passwords to Sticky Password is to transfer them directly from your current password manager on your iPhone or iPad. This method avoids creating a file with your passwords and keeps the process simple.

Compatible password managers

Direct transfer works only with password managers that support this feature on iPhone or iPad.

Some popular password managers already support it, including Apple Passwords, Bitwarden, Dashlane, and 1Password. You may need the latest version of iOS/iPadOS and the latest version of both apps.

Import your passwords to Sticky Password

  1. Open your current password manager.
  2. Find the option to export, transfer, or move your passwords to another password manager.
  3. Choose Sticky Password when asked where you want to move your passwords.
  4. Confirm the transfer using Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode.
  5. Wait until the transfer is complete.
  6. Sticky Password opens the Select items screen. Choose which items you want to import.
  7. Tap an item in the list to open a preview.
  8. Tap Import... button to import your selection. When the import finishes, Sticky Password offers to open your imported items.
  9. If an error occurs, Sticky Password shows a list of items with any problems clearly marked so you can see what needs your attention.

What can be imported

Depending on your current password manager, Sticky Password may import:

  • Passwords
  • Passkeys
  • Two-factor authentication codes
  • Secure notes
  • Payment cards

Some password managers may transfer only passwords.

Why this method is recommended

This method is recommended because:

  • You do not need to create a password export file
  • Your passwords are transferred directly between apps
  • The transfer is protected by your device security
  • The process is faster and easier than importing from a file

If direct transfer is not available

If you do not see an option to transfer your passwords directly to Sticky Password, your current password manager may not support this method yet.

In that case, you can import your passwords from a file instead.
