With the Sticky Password browser extension installed, Contactless Connect offers even more convenience and functionality. The extension recognizes the website you're on and generates a QR code specifically for that site. Simply scan it with the Sticky Password app on your phone, and Sticky Password will automatically fill in your login credentials (based on your Sticky Password settings)—no need to drag and drop or copy and paste.
This setup is ideal in situations where you can install the browser extension but not the full Sticky Password application—such as on a work computer with software installation restrictions or a device where you prefer not to install additional software. With the extension in place, logging in becomes even faster and more seamless while maintaining the same high level of security.
Yes! Even if you have the Sticky Password app installed along with the browser extension on your computer, you can still use Contactless Connect—under certain conditions.
So, if the Sticky Password app is unlocked on the target computer, you don't need Contactless Connect—nor will it appear as an option. But if the Sticky Password app is locked, Contactless Connect will be available, even on a device with Sticky Password installed.
Logging in is just a scan away—follow these steps:
For easy access, be sure to pin the extension to your browser toolbar.
The first time you scan a QR code generated by the browser extension on a new computer, you'll receive a prompt on your smartphone to approve the extension for use with your StickyAccount. After approving, you'll need to scan the QR code again to complete the login. From then on, the extension will be recognized, and you won't need to approve it again.
When you scan the QR code, Sticky Password will check whether you have saved logins for the website you're currently on.
There are two scenarios:
This ensures you can always access your accounts quickly, whether or not you already have credentials saved for the site.
If Sticky Password detects one or more saved logins for the website you're on, the app on your smartphone will display them for you to choose from. Once you select the correct login, Contactless Connect will automatically fill in your credentials, making the process quick and effortless.
Follow these steps:
💡 Note: If the website link stored in Sticky Password does not lead directly to the login page (the page where you enter your credentials), you may need to manually navigate to it. Once you reach the login page, Sticky Password will autofill your credentials.
That's it! No copying, pasting, or dragging—just a seamless and secure login experience with a quick scan.
If Sticky Password doesn't find a saved login for the website you're on, you can either save a new login or search for an existing one.
I.
If you're on a website that isn't saved in your Sticky Password database, you'll have two options: you can tap 'Add Account' to save it for future use, or tap 'Search' to manually find and connect to a different saved website.
After scanning the QR code, the 'Add Account' option will appear. Tap it to enter your login details—such as your username and password—then tap 'Save' to securely store the credentials in Sticky Password.
Once saved, your login will be ready for future use. The next time you visit the website's login page, Sticky Password will autofill your credentials for you, making sign-in quick and effortless.
💡 Note: Saving a login in Sticky Password does not automatically create an account on the website. You must still register with the site if you don't already have an account.
II.
If you're on a blank page (such as your browser's start page), the general account search screen will open in the app on your smartphone. From there, you can manually select the website you need, and Contactless Connect will take you to the correct login page.
Follow these steps:
💡 Note: If the website link stored in Sticky Password does not lead directly to the login page (the page where you enter your credentials), you may need to manually navigate to it. Once you reach the login page, Sticky Password will autofill your credentials.
Always stay alert to any prompts asking you to save passwords in the browser or another password manager—if prompted, be sure to decline.
And of course, always log out of websites when you're done to keep your accounts secure.
