Only these devices can decrypt the information, ensuring your data remains private and protected throughout the process.
Once the browser decrypts the data and completes the login, all keys and temporary data are deleted. This means no traces are left behind, safeguarding your credentials even after the session is complete. Contactless Connect allows you to log in by scanning a QR code with the Sticky Password app on your mobile device. For security reasons, Contactless Connect only works with QR codes generated by the Sticky Password website or the Sticky Password browser extension. QR codes from any other source will not work.
Contactless Connect works in many diverse scenarios: whether you can install the Sticky Password application, just the browser extension, or even when no extension is available!
To get the best experience, ensure that your Sticky Password app on your smartphone is up-to-date and that your devices are connected to the internet.

Using Contactless Connect directly from the Browser (No Browser Extension Required)
When you need to log in on a computer where installing a browser extension isn’t an option, Contactless Connect is there for you. Simply visit stickypassword.com, where you’ll see a floating button—a small circular icon with our logo—at the bottom right of the screen.
Logging in is just a scan away—follow these steps:
- Visit stickypassword.com on the computer where you want to log in.
- Click the Contactless Connect button in the lower right corner to generate a unique and secure QR code in a popup window.
- Open the Sticky Password app on your smartphone and unlock it.
- Tap the Scan QR Code button in the app to scan the QR code and launch the account search in your Sticky Password database.
- Select the account you want to log in to.
- Depending on your browser, the login process may work in one of two ways:
- In some browsers, like Chrome, the website’s login page won’t open automatically. Instead, you’ll see a floating popup displaying your login credentials. You’ll need to navigate to the website’s login page yourself.
- In others, like Firefox and Safari, a new browser window will appear, and the website’s login page may open automatically.
- Drag and drop your username and password into the appropriate fields, then click Sign In.
- Due to limitations with popups in some browsers, you may need to click the popup to bring it back into focus after each drag-and-drop action.
- Alternatively, you can tap the copy button next to each field and paste the credentials manually.
That’s it! You're securely logged in without needing to install anything on the computer.

Always stay alert to any prompts asking you to save passwords in the browser or another password manager. If you see such a prompt, be sure to decline.
